Private Bills
Private Bills (sometimes called Private Legislation) are proposed laws that,
if passed by the Legislative Assembly, would allow a particular person or group
of persons to claim an exemption from the general law, or would provide for
something that cannot be obtained under the general law.
This document is intended to support applicants' understanding of the process
by which Private Bills become law. Applicants are encouraged to contact the
Clerk of the Standing Committee on Regulations and Private Bills for more information:
