The Office of the Assembly is the administrative arm of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario. Our mandate is to provide non-partisan support services to all Members of Provincial Parliament.
We are seeking a dynamic, client-focused leader to manage the procurement activities for a diverse range of commodities and services for the Legislative Assembly. This is a unique and challenging opportunity for a results-oriented professional with experience in all facets of procurement.
You will manage a team of eight professionals who provide varying levels of service and support to the Members of Provincial Parliament at both their Queen's Park and Constituency offices in addition to serving a diverse client group. As the Purchasing Manager, you will establish cohesive working relationships with managers, employees and service providers by using the utmost sensitivity, tact, integrity and good judgement to give sound professional advice. You will lend support to the Director, Purchasing & Operations by providing input on the development, implementation and delivery of strategic plans and related policies in procurement as well as providing representation in the absence of the Director, Purchasing & Operations when necessary.
To succeed in this position, you must have progressive management experience in public procurement. Your level of expertise for this position will be demonstrated by your procurement designation (SCMP, CPPO, or CPPB) and a minimum of five years in public procurement or a combination of practical experience and/ or education in a relevant discipline. A sound knowledge of procurement management, contract management, including the legal aspects of public procurement is essential. Your strong client service orientation, coupled with your exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills will contribute to your success in this position. The salary range for this position is $96,772 to $110,449 per annum.
